Rainbow: A rainbow is an optical and meteorological phenomenon that causes a spectrum of light to appear in the sky when the Sun shines onto droplets of moisture in the Earth’s atmosphere. They take the form of a multicoloured arc, with red on the outer part of the arch and violet on the inner section of the arch.

The colors of the rainbow, popularly acronymed as Vibgyor or Roy G Biv, are a soothing view to the eyes.

Earlier this week, I witnessed a beautiful double bowed rainbow from my bedroom window whose outer bow had the colors inverted.

The beauty at that moment was breath taking! I wish that the photograph below could capture even a little bit of the actual beauty!!

Sun is the source of life on earth. It gives so much to us, without asking for anything in return! But sometimes I feel that it is worthless.. Especially when there is SUN high up in the sky at 3.30 in the morning untill 11.30 in night.. I seriously cant get any sleep quiet sometimes.. I am gonna buy some effective window blinds very soon!!

The marshmellow challenge

By | normal | No Comments

Fun and design experience!! The marshmellow challenge is all about your intutive design and ability to work in collaboration. The task is so simple that everybody things they’d do it in a flash. But then as you start it, it starts getting difficult.

All the fun lies between how you are supposed to use 20 spaghetties, a yard of string and cello-tape to build the tallest free standing structure with a marshmellow on top.

The biggest challenge is that you cannot eat the marshmellow. 😉

Surprisingly, the statistical analysis of the challenge says that the kids are best at it. That’s because they always keep in mind that they have to keep the marshmellow at the top. And thus they keep on prototyping the design. Usually, people tend to create tall structures and then at the last, put the marshmellow on top, which usually is a failure.

Prototyping is very important! In software engineering as well.

Last friday, we had our team day. Though, it was the first time I came to know about the marshmellow challenge, our team won and it was because we stick to the basic goal of putting the marshmellow on top.

N900 launched in India

By | normal | No Comments

Finally, after a long wait, N900 was launched in India. Priced more than the usual smartphones available in the market, but I guess it is worth it!

Where would you find a phone, where you can watch HD movies, record them as well, be connected to the world wide web, be in sync with your email, twitter, facebook, play games, navigate to places, write blogs, browse the internet just like you do on a pc, no mobile version of websites opening, multi tasking and what not!!

I have been using N900 for more than a year now and I feel it is far better than many or rather all phones in the market!

At one time, I can see videos on youtube, be online and chat with friends on facebook, yahoo, google, make calls, send smses, check email, upload pictures to social networking sites, listen to music and if I want, I could even connect to the office VPN…

I remember once when I was actually connected to a remote server in office using ssh and actually compiled some stuff..

Nokia, connecting people truly!!

Just an example of multitasking on N900…

Real multi tasking!
